Ripples Sydney Wharf

I visited Ripples Sydney Wharf with my boyfriend for a special occasion. I have been to other restaurants owned by the Aqua Group previously but had yet to try this one. 

  

 As you can see by the photo the view from the restaurant is breath taking, particularly during the light of day. The restaurant decor is fun and modern with bright orange and red chairs. As it is outdoors with only minimal shelter it can get a bit cold especially in the winter months. The restaurant mainly attracts couples and business groups so it is never noisy.

It is BYO and fully licensed.

They have a very extensive wine list consisting of very fancy choices including Moet. 

Salt and pepper calamari $18 

The staff are very professional. They pour your water and your wine. They are able to list all the specials on request and are frequently offering their assistance.

 Char-grilled beef sirloin, dutch carrots, parsnip puree, roast mushroom, spinach and red wine jus $32

The restaurant has a relatively small menu however it changes depending on the season. It is a more upmarket restaurant so the prices are rather steep, however the quality is exceptional. The meal choices are not suited to children unless you visit them for lunch for some of their famous fish and chips. My steak was delicious. It was cooked to perfection and I couldn't help but finish it. There is nothing like a well cooked steak. If you're not a fan of red meat there are three types of pasta on offer as well as several fish and other meat dishes. All of the dishes were presented beautifully, which added to the upmarket ambience of the restaurant. 

Affogato: espresso coffee, vanilla gelato & biscotti $8 

Can't forget dessert. I don't have a particularly sweet tooth, however I was very tempted with all of the options on the dessert menu. As we'd both had a starter and a main we decided to share a smaller dessert. Even this simple dessert was exquisite.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a special night out.
I give it a rating of 4 out of 5.
